Costs and quality of porcelain paving can vary hugely, we’ve found that the positives vastly outweigh the negatives when it comes to choosing porcelain over other material types. Porcelain is extremely low in porosity, meaning that it won’t absorb any surface water compared to natural stone – this makes porcelain a great option for longevity and durability.
As well as being hard wearing, porcelain paving works great with more modern and contemporary spaces giving the area a more seamless appearance – especially in outdoor living areas. Believe it or not it is also very slip resistant – you can tell how slip resistant your paving is by looking at the R rating, R9 being for used dry areas only to R13 being suitable for outdoor and wet areas, most come at R11 as standard.
Overall porcelain paving can be more expensive than its alternatives but in the long term it can save you money with regards to its durability and long-lasting wear. It also depends on the overall style and theme of the area you are looking to achieve although there is currently a huge variety of styles which can accommodate most customer needs.
